David has a wealth of experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications. With his engineering degree specialising in electrical and electronic engineering, David has handled inventions spanning a wide range of technological fields, including computer hardware and software, optoelectronic devices, speech processing, and communications technology. In particular, David has drafted many applications for standards-related inventions in 3G, 4G and 5G mobile networks.

Having joined HLK as a trainee in 1985, David is one of our most experienced patent attorneys and is highly respected by both colleagues and clients. David has recently retired from full-time practice, but is still working with HLK on certain special projects.
